february

ok let's look over February
this was going to be the start of the long slow run's and getting some more miles in the legs
i was going to up from 6 run's a week to 7 run's a week
this was going well then we had some more snow so it was off to the gym and get on the treadmill ojoy
so on a friday night there i am with a 8*600 mt with 200 jog  was hard work but the work out was in the bag
then came my 1st of many i had hoped of long slow run's there was still a lot of snow about so my 14 mil run did take a lot longer by some 30+ min's but it was some good strenth training
most of that week training went to plan things were going to well !!!
that friday i was taking the club track night had planed to take it easy with a half marahon on the sunday
16 * 200 mts around my 14th rep my right calf was not happy i put this to the back of my head
sunday the plan was to go easy  for the 2mils then speed up this was all going to plan till mil 5 my calf was saying it was not happy hoping it will just go away i keeped going but by mil 7.5 i had to stop it was getting to painfull i had to stop
so some days off and only two run of 20 min in for the week i headed off to the Natlonal cross country race at parliament hill was happy with my run but did have to stop trying to been ill this did not stop me for running in the race and was soon back up to pace and moving thro the feld at a steady pace and my calf was ok
and as a team we did good to
the sunday was going to be my long run but this did not happen as my legs needed a shorter easy run
but still looking at a 140 mils for Feb so it not all bad

keep a eye for my bog blog as i am getting ready for this grizzly and the bog of doom !!

so till then keep on running

January

hear we go a look back over January
the plan was to have January as a base setting this was going to be running 6 times a week
working on strengh and some speed work with some cross crountry race in the mix just
to see how things are going along the way
this was going all most to plan with the xc race but was still having some difficulty with my breating and have to stop and clear my throth and then get going this was getting to be a bit of a pain
so it was beck to the vet's
next up was the 1st of the G3 races all was going well only had to stop for a short time getting better !
next was the south of England x-champ's down in Brighton had a good race did not have to stop but was lapped by the lead runners was good fun all the same will be back next yr
then we had the snow and  my best kind of running out in the snow over at the  lookout with my good friend Lisa H all most 9 mils and that mug of tea was so good at the end
i  have all so  found time to set up a running group at work to get staff fit for a 5km race for life
that has been going well and are all ready up to 5 km
now we are in to Feb and i am start up the mils on my longer run's more on this  in my next blog
so till then keep on running
